The Beach House Bondi

The Beach House is located opposite the world-famous Bondi Beach, and occupies a significant site adjacent to ‘The Hotel Bondi’. The contemporary mixed-use development allowed the original heritage elements of the Hotel to be renovated, restored and made commercially viable.

A galleria is established through the site to connect Campbell Parade with Gould Street, creating a lively pedestrian retail arcade. It allows the hotel to be seen as an important free-standing building, to which the Beach House creates a contemporary counterpoint by means of coloured façade panels, patterned windows, awnings and pergolas.

Most apartments are planned to have views of the beach, even some of the apartments located to the rear of the site. Internal light wells provide light, ventilation, and an intimate garden outlook in contrast to the ocean views. Interior layouts are calm and simple, maximising the sense of light, spaciousness and views to the beach – qualities that are evocative of a traditional holiday beach house.
